Exact-product and exact-lot COA matching

Check whether the certificate of analysis you found actually belongs to the CBD product and batch you are reviewing. This tool sorts each match point into Supported, Conflict, Missing or Unclear, and Not Applicable. It does not score product safety, effectiveness, legality, or personal suitability.

Compare the Package, Seller Record, and COA

Use only what the documents actually show. A generic lab-results page is not the same as an exact-lot match, and a missing field should stay Missing or Unclear.

Does the COA product name or description match the product?Watch for a different product line or similarly named item.

Does the form match?Oil, gummy, topical, capsule, flower, or another form should not be silently substituted.

Does the labeled strength or concentration match the COA-linked product?Check total mg, mg per serving, concentration, or strength variant when shown.

Does the flavor, size, count, or other variant match?Use Not Applicable only when no variant distinction exists.

Does the batch or lot number match exactly?Compare punctuation and suffixes too. Similar lot numbers are not the same lot.

Does the SKU, item number, or product code match when one is shown? This can distinguish variants that share similar names.

Does the seller’s QR code, batch lookup, or product link lead to this exact report?Direct mapping is stronger than finding a PDF elsewhere on the site.

Does the COA show a report, sample, order, or certificate identifier?Keep it Unknown if you cannot distinguish this report from another laboratory record.

Is the testing laboratory clearly identified? The lab identity should be visible on the actual report.

Are report dates consistent with the batch record?Look at received, sampled, tested, reported, manufactured, or expiration dates when available.

Is there evidence this batch is the one currently sold or the one in hand?An authentic older COA may still be the wrong evidence for current inventory.

Does the linked record appear to be the complete report rather than a cropped image or partial screenshot?Missing pages can hide identifiers or result context needed for a defensible match.

Optional document identifiers: Add only the package and report details you want included in your local summary. Nothing is uploaded.

How to Use the Result

This tool does not calculate an overall score. A supported match point confirms only that one identifier or relationship. A conflict means the records disagree. Missing or Unclear means there is not enough evidence to decide.

Evidence boundary: Matching a COA to a product does not prove that the product is safe, effective, legal, accurately labeled, or suitable for anyone. After confirming the match, use COA Red-Flag Checker to review the report itself, or read How to Read a CBD COA. For worked examples, see CBD Product Passports.

Next Step: Compare Documented Products

Once the product and batch match is clear, move from verification to comparison. Use the CBD Product Comparison Builder to compare two to four published Product Passport records side by side. The comparison uses documented batch evidence and does not rank products or make a safety recommendation.

Missing a Match Point? Copy a Seller Request

Replace the bracketed fields and ask for the exact finished-batch records. Do not include private health information.

When the records arrive, compare the product, variant, seller lot, laboratory ID mapping, dates, units, reporting limits and panels. If the missing relationship is still not documented, keep that field Missing / unclear. See the full request guide and worked examples.
