CBD Return Policies and Subscription Terms

Returns, renewals and cancellation evidence

CBD return policies can differ on the details that cost buyers money: whether an opened product qualifies, who pays return postage, when a recurring order renews, and whether a special offer follows the brand’s ordinary guarantee. This guide compares current public terms for 12 CBD brands checked September 11, 2026.

The useful habit is simple: save the policy before checkout, separate a satisfaction guarantee from an ordinary merchandise return, and cancel recurring orders before the seller’s stated processing point.

Before checkout

Six CBD Return and Subscription Terms to Check

  1. Return window. Is the deadline measured from purchase, shipment, or delivery?
  2. Opened-product rule. Does the guarantee cover a product you tried, or only new and unopened merchandise?
  3. Return postage and fees. Look for prepaid-label deductions, restocking fees, and nonrefundable original shipping.
  4. Renewal timing. Record the next charge date and shipment frequency for any recurring order.
  5. Cancellation cutoff. “Cancel anytime” may not stop an order that has already processed.
  6. Special-offer terms. Trials, bundles, beverages, final-sale items, and introductory subscriptions can follow different rules from the seller’s standard policy.
Do not let the headline guarantee do all the reading for you. “30-day” or “60-day” tells you almost nothing about opened products, shipping costs, renewal timing, or excluded offers.

12 CBD Brand Return and Subscription Examples

These are dated documentation examples, not brand rankings. “Unknown” means the reviewed public pages did not answer that field clearly enough.

Brand Return / refund window Opened product and return cost Recurring-order control Current limitation to notice
Extract Labs Standard route: 7 days after delivery. Separate 60-day money-back program. Standard return uses original-condition merchandise; separate 60-day program expects a product trial and does not require a return. Subscription returns can carry a 25% restocking fee. Self-service cancellation has account-age and pre-renewal timing limits; pauses require advance contact. Do not merge the ordinary return route and separate 60-day program into one policy. Lazarus Naturals Refund policy and FAQ say 90 days after delivery; current Terms of Service says 30 days. Refund policy says any product for any reason and provides free returns within the contiguous United States. Account controls support cancel, skip and reschedule. The seller’s 30-day and 90-day statements conflict. Refund policy · Terms of Service
Aspen Green Formal Terms of Sale use 30 days; current product and collection copy also advertises 60-day satisfaction language. Help-center route accepts unused portions and empty containers under the satisfaction process. Prepaid return label is provided; original shipping/handling is excluded from the refund. Pause, skip or cancel without stated commitment fees; already processed shipments may not be cancellable. The live 30-day and 60-day seller statements do not agree. Terms of Sale · Subscribe & Save
Bluebird Botanicals 30 days from purchase. Only new and unopened products qualify. Shipping charges are excluded unless the return resulted from seller error. Return-label cost was not stated clearly in the pages checked. Subscription account supports cancel, skip or pause. An opened bottle does not qualify under the reviewed guarantee language. Current product terms · Subscriptions
Cornbread Hemp 30 days from delivery for non-beverage products. The guarantee covers products the buyer has tried. Returned non-beverage items use an $8 prepaid-label fee, and original shipping is not refunded. Autoship page supports pause, skip and swap through account controls. Beverages follow separate final-sale and damaged-delivery rules. Refund policy · Autoship
Joy Organics 90-day satisfaction guarantee. Seller guidance supports refund or replacement after use; opened products are not mailed back under that route. Return-shipping responsibility for an unopened physical return was not located in the checked pages. Cancel, pause, skip or modify before the next order processes. An order already processed, packed or shipped may not be cancellable, but the seller states it remains under the 90-day guarantee. Refund policy · Cancellation policy
R&R CBD 60-day money-back guarantee. The guarantee is presented as a product-trial guarantee. The return-label cost is deducted from the refund. Autoship can be swapped, skipped or canceled; seller says a reminder is sent before shipment. Return-label cost affects the net refund even when the guarantee window is clear. Returns · Autoship
CBDistillery Standard eligible purchase: 60-day guarantee. Try Before You Buy: separate 28-day trial. Standard guarantee and trial do not require return of the sampled product. The trial’s initial shipping charge is nonrefundable. Standard subscription can be canceled through account or customer service. Try Before You Buy auto-enrolls after 28 days unless canceled. Try Before You Buy recurring orders are stated as nonrefundable and excluded from the standard 60-day guarantee. Standard subscription · Trial terms example
PlusCBD 30 days after delivery. Refund excludes shipping charges. Opened-product eligibility was not clear in the reviewed refund page. Cancel before the next scheduled shipment; subscriptions can be delayed up to 90 days. If the next shipment is not canceled in time, the seller says the customer is charged and responsible for return shipping. Refund policy · Subscription FAQ
Charlotte’s Web 30 days after delivery. Refund covers item cost after discount; original shipping is not refunded. Opened-product eligibility was not explicit in the checked policy. Subscription account offers recurring intervals that vary by product and lets customers manage/cancel the plan. Do not infer opened-product coverage from general satisfaction wording. Refund policy · Subscriptions

Formal online policy excludes shipping fees; current product pages say a full refund does not require sending the product back. Subscribe & Save offers 30-, 60- or 90-day frequencies and says customers can adjust, pause or cancel. The live 30-day and 60-day online guarantee wording conflicts. Refund policy · Subscription page
CBDfx 60 days from order date. Unopened or minimally used products in original packaging may qualify. Return-label cost was not stated in the current return page checked. Account controls support subscription management and cancellation; already processed orders may not be cancellable. Use the current primary policy rather than assuming an older help article still controls. Return policy · Subscribe & Save

Three Return-Policy Traps Worth Catching Before You Buy

A Satisfaction Guarantee Is Not Always an Ordinary Return Policy

Some sellers let buyers try a product and request a refund without mailing it back. Others accept only new, unopened merchandise. A few publish both an ordinary return route and a separate guarantee with different deadlines or conditions. Save the exact page that applies to the offer you use.

“Free Returns” and “Money Back” Do Not Always Mean Zero Cost

A seller may exclude original shipping, deduct a return-label fee, or apply a restocking fee to a recurring order. Compare the expected refund with what you actually paid, including the stated return cost.

Special Offers Can Override the Headline Guarantee

Trial offers, beverage products, final-sale items and recurring renewals can carry their own conditions. CBDistillery’s current Try Before You Buy offer is one example: the seller separates the 28-day trial and its recurring orders from the standard 60-day guarantee.

Save These Records Before a CBD Subscription Renews

  • Checkout page showing the recurring price and frequency
  • Order confirmation and subscription confirmation
  • Next renewal or processing date
  • Cancellation, skip or pause confirmation
  • Refund or return policy shown when the order was placed
  • Any seller email announcing a price, product or schedule change

Take screenshots or save PDFs when the amount matters. A dated record is more useful than trying to reconstruct the seller’s wording after a charge posts.

CBD Return and Subscription Checklist

  1. Write down the delivery or purchase date that starts the return window.
  2. Confirm whether opened or used products qualify.
  3. Record original shipping, return-label and restocking fees.
  4. Separate a standard purchase from a trial, bundle, beverage or final-sale offer.
  5. Save the recurring price and next billing date.
  6. Cancel or pause before the seller’s stated processing cutoff.
  7. Keep the confirmation email or account screenshot after changing a subscription.
  8. If the product itself may be mislabeled or caused a concerning reaction, preserve the package, lot number and COA separately from the billing records.

Next Step: Record the Terms Before Checkout

Open the CBD Buying Checklist and its free evidence worksheet. Use the worksheet to record the seller-policy URL, check date, return window, return costs, renewal date and cancellation cutoff beside your product and batch notes. Leave unclear terms marked Unknown.

For documentation differences across sellers, browse the CBD Brand Report Cards.

If a CBD Return or Subscription Dispute Already Happened

Save the order confirmation, policy page, cancellation record, charge date, seller response, package and batch information. Keep the billing problem separate from any product-safety or labeling issue so each record is easy to follow.

The CBD product-problem guide lists seller, payment-provider and regulator routes for refunds, subscription disputes, product-quality issues, deceptive claims and adverse-event reports. It also explains why payment-dispute deadlines can depend on the payment method.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I return opened CBD?

It depends on the seller and offer. Some reviewed brands accept tried or minimally used products, while Bluebird Botanicals limits the reviewed guarantee to new and unopened items. When the seller does not state an opened-product rule clearly, CBDCafe records it as Unknown.

Does “money-back guarantee” mean return shipping is free?

No. Cornbread Hemp currently states an $8 prepaid-label fee for returned non-beverage items, R&R says its return-label cost is deducted from the refund, and other sellers exclude original shipping or leave return-label responsibility unclear.

Does cancel anytime stop an order that already processed?

Not necessarily. Several reviewed sellers state that an order can become difficult or impossible to cancel once it has processed, packed, shipped, or reached a renewal cutoff. Save the cancellation confirmation and date.

Is every subscription covered by the seller’s standard return guarantee?

No. Special programs can have their own terms. CBDistillery’s current Try Before You Buy offer states that recurring orders are nonrefundable and excluded from its standard 60-day guarantee.

Method and Limits

CBDCafe reviewed public seller refund, return, subscription and contact pages for the 12 brands above on September 11, 2026. No test orders were placed and no customer-service contacts were made. A missing term stays Unknown rather than being inferred from a headline guarantee or another brand’s policy.

This page compares seller documentation. It does not rank brands, promise a refund, decide a contract dispute, or state what a court, card issuer, regulator or seller must do in an individual case.
